| HOWARD the cheetah loves being fast. He zips around with reckless abandon and never slows down, "not for anything!" However, when Howard hurts his leg and can't run, he is suddenly slow and GRUMPY. How could anyone like being slow? It's up to Quince, a vacationing sloth, to show Howard just how wonderful slow can be!
This engaging story and exuberant art celebrate an unusual friendship as well as the beauty of life at a different pace. Sample Artwork: ORDER: Bookstore and School Visit orders: 1-800-255-7675 BOOK SIGNINGS/EVENTS: |
ERIK BROOKS is the author & illustrator of several books for children, including The Practically Perfect Pajamas and Octavius Bloom and the House of Doom. Erik is fast. Erik is slow. He loves to run, but not always fast. He also can't get enough of watching the sunset on distant hills or the snow pile up on the ground outside -- slowly! In this hurry-up world, the slow days go by far too quickly. Erik is also proud of the many friendships in his life. No matter what, there is always potential to slow down and nurture something well beyond the speedy introductions. Remember: SLOW DAYS ROCK!
REVIEWS: "This is an adorable story for young children. They will enjoy Erik's bright watercolor and colored pencil illustrations. But it's not a book for children alone. It's a great gift of hope and patience for the injured runner. And a reminder that slow and fast runners can be friends." - Carol Goodrow, ed. KidsRunning.com |
